a little girl, aged 4-5, approached holding her brother's hand. they stopped before me. the little girl pointed at me with her tiny finger and said to her brother "someone is eating without paying". her brother looked at me with his eyes wide opened. i then said to them "i did pay" the little girl nodded her head and said to her brother "oh, she paid"
it might be some insignificant bits and pieces in life but i do feel touched by the little girl's words.
she knows that if she wanted to eat, she had to pay.
she knows that if she found someone doing something wrong, she had to speak up.
she is brave, braver than her bother,
braver than anyone of us - the grown-ups and the so-called adults.
